The McKenzie River is one of the most beautiful rivers in Oregon with its brilliant clear water, stunning waterfalls, and vibrant scenic colors, particularly in the fall. Spanning 90 miles, the McKenzie flows from the Cascade Range in Linn County down to Lane County before joining the Willamette River just five miles north of Eugene. If fly fishing’s your game, we offer some opportunities on the McKenzie primarily for trout. Late spring is a great time to land Chinook salmon, also known as Springers, or catch some summer steelhead, that is if the ducks don’t get ‘em first!
