The mighty Willamette River stretches 187 miles from Eugene, Oregon to Portland, forming the Willamette Valley. Research shows the watershed supported humans over 10,000 years ago! Like our ancestors before us, we love the Willamette River for the outstanding fishing. From April through June, we cast our lines practically in the heart of downtown Portland looking for spring Chinook salmon (Springers). The summer months are a good time to head south to the Eugene area and net more salmon and steelhead. From the city to the stream, the Willamette River truly offers the authentic Oregon experience.
